‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ Live Symphony Performance To Hit Melbourne

After Sydney accio’d itself a pair of epic symphonic performances of Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone, the Melbourne Sydney Orchestra has channelled this guy:

and sorted Melbourne muggles out with a few of their own.

The city’s resident symphony-par-excellence has just unveiled its massive program for 2017, which includes two performances of legendary composer John Williams’ bewitching score for the OG HP flick, in what they’ve described as “a thrilling screen and sound event”.

From the moment when Hagrid first utters the immortal words “You’re a wizard, Harry”, to The Boy Who Lived’s first run-in with He Who Must Not Be Named, to his heartbreaking encounter with the spectres of his dead parents in The Mirror Of Erised, Potterheads will get to experience the nostalgia of witnessing all of these defining moments again, emotionally turbo-charged by the power of a live orchestra, who’ll be performing the iconic score alongside a screening of the film.

And that’s not all. The MSO has also chucked in some bars from the first HP sequel, The Chamber Of Secrets for good measure.

The whole thing’s not going down til November of 2017, so you’ll have over year to prepare yourselves for your next adventure at Hogwarts.

Which feels a bit familiar, really.
