The Beatles’ LEGO Yellow Submarine Set Revealed in Trippy Trailer

The Beatles have been transformed into LEGO, with their ‘Yellow Submarine’ era receiving a miniature makeover.

The brand new official set is the result of an idea pitched to the brick-building company by a fan, who submitted an entry to LEGO’s ideas section suggesting that the iconic band should receive their very own figurines. The end result is a take on Yellow Submarine, the psychedelic 1968 animated musical which following the adventures of the Fab Four.

The project, which received 10,000 supporters on LEGO’s official site, has now been made into a reality, with the set featuring miniature figures boasting The Beatles’ likenesses along with a recreation of the aforementioned Yellow Submarine. The set comes with over 550 pieces, with it set to retail in the US for around $50 in the UK and roughly $60 in the US.

Along with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, the set also features an appearance from Jeremy Hillary Boob, who is a character in the animated movie. In the trailer revealing the brand new set, The Beatles are depicted fighting a giant sea monster, with it sharing the same trippy tone as the film it is based upon.

The Yellow Submarine set will be available from the LEGO store along with select retailers. No release date has yet been given.
