Shania Twain will be honoured with the CMT Artist Of A Lifetime Award, making her the first woman to receive the award.
Previous recipients have included Kenny Rogers, and artists such as Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett have been shortlisted as honourees
Twain has earned five Grammys, two CMAs and 26 Canadian Country Music Awards so far during her illustrious career, and has sold more than 85 million records. She’s released a total of four studio albums, the most recent being 2002’s “Up!”
She was chosen for her “indelible impact and achievements in country music” (The Canadian Press).
The “CMT Artists of the Year” ceremony premieres October 20th at 9pm.
