Here’s the First Pokemon Go Player to Catch 143 Pokemon

A British Pokemon Go player has broken the record for the most Pokemon caught in the game, with him having successfully filled his Pokedex with 143 of the elusive creatures in the record-breaking mobile game.

Sam Clark from Southampton, England managed to catch all 142 Pokemon available in the UK, along with a Taurus that he claims he hatched from an egg. Taurus is one of four region-locked Pokemon previously believed to only be available in North America, though Nintendo hasn’t confirmed if they appear in eggs outside the region.

Though suspicions will inevitably be raised given the short length of time it’s taken Sam to achieve such an impressive Pokedex, the video showing off his collection is pretty substantial evidence. The previous recorded record was a man in the USA had captured all 142 Pokemon in the region, but Sam’s one extra find puts him slightly ahead.

Despite Sam’s plentiful Pokedex, no one has yet to capture all 151 Pokemon, with the remaining creatures either being region-locked or hard-to-find legendaries. Both Mewtwo and Mew have yet to be discovered altogether, though they have been discovered in the game’s files, so it appears that developer Niantic Labs have hidden both Pokemon in very secretive areas.
