It was exactly 50 years ago today that Play School first appeared on Australian TV screens. Since then, the program has gone on to be a staple in the early development plan for just about all of us. To celebrate the milestone, a blooper reel from the show has been released and it is eye opening, you guys.
If like me, you’d found yourself in various situations throughout early adulthood and thought to yourself, head held in hands, “Oh god…what would Benita think of me now?” Well, chances are she’d tell you to “Gut the fuck up and kick on, son” as the blooper reel reveals she swears. JUST LIKE US!
Though hilarious, topical and nostalgic, the video is more of a relief to see that no, we didn’t go wrong somewhere, we weren’t distracted by the good morals from our beloved Play School by rap music…we grew up into swearing, tumbling, accident-prone humans. JUST LIKE THE HOSTS!
Masters of deception, the show as always made sure to employ characters like Humpty or Big Ted who proved to be far too concerning for children to even notice any bloopers.
Now get this, the show was only supposed to run for 11 weeks…
