Blake Lively’s Booze Business Appears to Be Losing Its Buzz

Blake Lively’s beverage business appears to be losing momentum as her legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues to draw attention. The actor launched Betty Buzz in 2021 with a line of non-alcoholic drinks. She later added alcoholic beverages under the Betty Booze name in 2023. Lively had admitted that she does not enjoy drinking alcohol, making the expansion a notable step for her business.

Blake Lively’s Betty Buzz and Betty Booze face new questions

TMZ reports that Lively’s beverage company has let several trademark applications lapse since the business first launched. Records reviewed by the outlet show that the Betty Buzz and Betty Booze trademarks remain active. However, the company abandoned other applications linked to the business. The beer-based products, and non-alcoholic carbonated beverages and some other product types, were among those filings.

The trademark changes are not a confirmation of Lively’s plans to shutter either brand. Still, the abandoned applications add to signs that the business may be scaling back its plans. The two main brand names remain protected, according to the records cited by the outlet. The filings also show that the company once sought trademark coverage for a wider range of drinks and products than the two brands currently offer.

The brands’ social media pages have also gone quiet in recent months. Betty Buzz last shared an Instagram post on April 5, while Betty Booze last posted on September 28. Both accounts had previously posted regularly and helped promote the brands to customers. The lack of newer updates has added to questions about the companies’ current activity.

The trademark changes and lack of recent Instagram activity point to a possible slowdown for Blake Lively’s beverage business. However, the active trademarks mean the report does not establish that Lively has officially shut down either beverage brand yet.
