False celebrity death reports can spread rapidly, especially following devastating incidents. This weekend, Lenny Kravitz became the subject of alarming online speculation. Fans feared the musician had died in a fatal aviation accident.
Lenny Kravitz’s representative denies rumors linking him to deadly Florida plane crash
Kravitz death rumors started circulating after a deadly Florida Learjet crash killed nine people. The Bahamas-bound aircraft crashed into a mobile home park in Greenacres, Florida, Sunday. The incident occurred near Military Trail and North 10th Avenue.
Kravitz’s representative quickly addressed speculation connecting the singer to the aircraft. Public relations representative Carleen Donovan confirmed the musician was not involved. Speaking to BocaNewsNow.com, she stated, “The reports are untrue and incorrect.”
The Lenny Kravitz plane crash rumors gained attention following a social media post. Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton had reportedly announced plans to fly the musician. Her since-deleted Facebook post mentioned a trip to the Bahamas.
“Honored to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz,” Shelton reportedly wrote. She also mentioned the planned route from Austin to North Eleuthera Airport. The post added, “‘It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over’ is gonna be playing in the cockpit.”
Fans subsequently circulated the announcement on X, intensifying concerns about Kravitz’s safety. However, Shelton later addressed the speculation through a TikTok statement. She clarified that she was not operating the aircraft involved.
“I would like to respectfully clarify I was not,” Shelton wrote. She also urged people to stop spreading misinformation about the tragedy. “My heart goes out to all those lost and affected,” she added.
Meanwhile, authorities continued investigating the deadly Palm Beach plane crash. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the incident as “cataclysmic.” All nine people aboard the aircraft died.
His representative helped put the disturbing speculation to rest. The musician was not among those aboard the crashed private jet. His clarification reassured fans amid the tragic incident.
