Selma Blair’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, Andy Kiernan, asked people to show compassion following her recent airplane incident and arrest. Kiernan shared a message on Instagram Stories after authorities accused Blair of assaulting people during and after a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York.

“Pray for Selma,” Kiernan wrote. “She has a good heart. She hasn’t yet got the help she needs.” As per the Daily Mail, he also urged followers to pray for Blair’s 15-year-old son, Arthur. “Pray that she does. She’s a human being like the rest of us. Pray for Arthur too,” Kiernan added.
Blair and Kiernan first became linked in 2024. However, the supplied sources said their current relationship status remained unclear. His message followed Blair’s October 11 flight from Los Angeles International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Authorities accused Blair of becoming physically disruptive aboard the aircraft. Reports alleged that she punched one flight attendant and bit another. Two flight attendants reported injuries. Police took Blair into custody after the plane landed.
Prosecutors also accused Blair of kicking a Port Authority police officer while officers transported her for medical care. They further alleged that she kicked a nurse in the chest at the hospital. Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault involving the officer and nurse.
Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, told the court that Blair had missed doses of medication before the incident. He also said she had fallen and hit her head during the flight. Barnes argued that those circumstances, along with the altitude, caused “severe confusion and disorientation.”
Blair’s representative separately said she experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. The representative said she was in stable condition. A judge later granted the nurse a temporary order of protection. The order required Blair to remain 100 yards away and prohibited contact.
The FBI also investigated allegations connected to the flight. Blair faced separate federal charges over the alleged assaults involving the flight attendants. Kiernan did not directly address the criminal allegations in his Instagram message. Instead, he focused on asking followers to support Blair and her son.
