‘Sister Wives’ Star Christine Brown Has a Bone to Pick With Her TV Image

Christine Brown is unhappy with how she appears on the current season of Sister Wives. The TLC star admitted that some episodes have left her feeling like she looks like the “villain.” However, Christine does not intend to return to her old habit of suppressing her feelings. She says learning to speak up after years of holding back has been challenging, but she is learning to give herself grace.

Christine Brown opens up about her reality TV portrayal

“Something has been weighing on my heart so heavily,” Christine Brown said in an Instagram video. “I feel like, throughout this season, I look like a villain.”

Christine joked that Disney villains are actually her favorites. Still, she explained that she is learning to balance standing up for herself with expressing her feelings appropriately.

Christine said she spent years suppressing her feelings instead of speaking her mind. Her marriage to David Woolley has changed that dynamic, as she now feels supported by a partner who listens to and defends her.

David’s support has been a major part of Christine’s life since the couple began their relationship. She said having someone who genuinely wants what is best for her has changed how she sees herself.

Her personal growth has also become a storyline on Sister Wives. In a recent conversation with Meri Brown, Christine explained why she needed firm boundaries after leaving Kody Brown. She admitted that she had spent years trying to please others and eventually needed space to figure out who she was.

Christine acknowledged that her newfound willingness to speak her mind does not always come across as intended. She admitted that she sometimes gets “fired up,” only to reconsider how she expressed herself after sleeping on it.

Interestingly, debate over Christine appearing like a Sister Wives “villain” is not entirely new. Her outspoken approach since leaving Kody has previously divided viewers.

This time, however, Christine seems to accept that not everyone will approve of how she expresses herself. As she wrote in her Instagram caption, she is still learning and growing, but has finally realized that her “voice matters.”
