Joan Smalls is reportedly upset with former best friend Candice Swanepoel over her alleged relationship with Tom Brady, whom Smalls previously dated. According to a source, the fallout has affected their 15-year friendship, with Smalls allegedly asking mutual friends to choose between them.

Page Six reported that, according to a source, Swanepoel previously encouraged Smalls to break up with Brady but later began dating the former NFL star herself. Celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi previously reported that Smalls and Brady dated on and off for about a year. However, a source told Page Six that their relationship was never serious.
The reported feud has spilled onto social media. Smalls allegedly called Swanepoel a “backstabber” in a message shared by DeuxMoi. In another now-deleted message, she wrote, “There was no girl code.”
Expressing her disappointment over the alleged betrayal, Smalls added, “And the way they gaslight, lie and minimize your feelings is the worst slap in the face after 15yrs or friendship. Not a sorry said or written. Onwards and upwards!!!”
Meanwhile, Swanepoel’s representative, Amanda Ruisi, told Page Six, “Candice has always been exceptionally private about her personal life, with her focus remaining on raising her children. She and Joan share a longstanding history and a friendship that Candice will always respect.”
Sources claim Swanepoel and Brady have been together since May after mutual friends introduced them. An insider also claimed that Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, is happy for the new couple. “It’s just so insane and so messy,” the source said.
Brady divorced Gisele Bündchen in October 2022. Since their separation, he has also been linked to several other women. However, he has not publicly addressed those reported relationships. Page Six said it contacted representatives for Smalls and Brady but had not received a response.
