Carole Radziwill is opening up about her return to The Real Housewives of New York City. The reality star said she connects more naturally with the show’s newer cast while comparing her former co-stars to a “dysfunctional family.”
Carole Radziwill calls her former RHONY cast a dysfunctional family while praising the Season 16 women
Radziwill returned for RHONY Season 16 after previously leaving the Bravo series in 2018. She originally joined the show in 2012 and appeared for six seasons. At the time, she said she wanted to return to journalism and producing.
In an interview with The New York Times, Radziwill explained how the cast feels different this time around. “This cast felt a little more natural than the older cast,” she said. However, she made clear that she still appreciated her former co-stars.
Radziwill added that she now “adore[s] and respect[s]” the women from her earlier seasons. She then described their relationship as resembling a “dysfunctional family,” explaining that the women love each other but frequently take offense at one another’s comments.
Her remarks came as she discussed returning to a franchise she once thought she had left behind. Radziwill reunited with executive producer Andy Cohen while promoting a documentary about John F. Kennedy Jr.’s magazine, George. She was surprised by the enthusiasm surrounding their reunion.
“Bravo fans are like no other fans,” Radziwill said. She compared their dedication to that of Taylor Swift fans. “They’re very dedicated, they’re very loyal, they remember everything,” she added.
Radziwill’s comments about her former co-stars offer a glimpse into how she views her earlier years on the series. While she said the current cast feels more natural to her, she also emphasized her respect and affection for the women she previously worked alongside.
Outside reality television, Radziwill also discussed her everyday life during the interview. She spoke about her cats, Mouse and Squeaks, and how they taught her about personal boundaries. “If you don’t have a cat, I can explain it, but I can’t make you understand,” she joked.
Radziwill also shared her love for New York bodegas, classic rock and midnight walks. Her return brings her back into the spotlight while introducing viewers to a new group of Housewives. Her comments highlight how the changing cast dynamics remain part of the show’s appeal.
