Nicolas Cage reveals he felt ‘bad’ about crashing Chris Rock’s Howard Stern interview
Cage discussed the incident while speaking at a spotlight panel at New York Comic Con on October 10 in New York City. He said, as stated by People, “I don’t interrupt people anymore. I had a problem with that in the past. I feel very bad about it. And I’ve actually apologized.” “Chris Rock was on the Howard Stern Show, and I just crashed the show. I felt terrible. I didn’t know it was Chris. I just showed up. I didn’t want to give Howard time to think about questions to ask,” he added while recalling the incident
The Leaving Las Vegas star later came face-to-face with Rock and told him, “You’re probably the coolest human in all of Hollywood.” Cage expressed his admiration for Rock even during the panel, saying, “I love Chris, and he was nice about it. But yeah, I probably shouldn’t have interrupted.”
During the 2002 interview, Cage suddenly entered the radio studio during Rock’s interview with Stern. Although his arrival surprised both men, they welcomed him into the conversation. Cage explained that he only had a short time to chat. Rock playfully declared that Cage was more famous than he was. Cage disagreed, but Rock responded with a witty remark, “He’s got an Academy Award. I’ve got a Source Award.”
Looking ahead, Cage has two films slated for release in November, Madden and Best Pancakes in the County. The actor also confirmed during the panel that he will appear in the upcoming season of True Detective.
