Roseanne Barr and Randy Quaid have both enjoyed successful careers, but they had never worked together before their latest project. Their latest collaboration, however, could bring one of Hollywood’s most unconventional duos to the screen.
Roseanne Barr reveals she couldn’t get enough of kissing Randy Quaid
Roseanne Barr recently promoted Meemaw: A Modern Day Fable and spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the series and her chemistry with co-star Randy Quaid. During the interview, Barr admitted that she particularly enjoyed filming their romantic scenes.
The actress said, “I enjoyed making out with him so much that I wrote extra scenes where we would make out.” She also said she wished “he would leave his wife and marry me.”
The She-Devil actress made the playful remarks while discussing her chemistry with her co-star. The 73-year-old actress is in a relationship with Johnny Argent, whom she first met through her blog.
In 2002, Barr hosted a writing competition on her personal blog, which Argent entered. His writing impressed Barr, and the two began communicating online. They officially began dating in 2003. After three previous marriages, Barr found a long-term partner in Argent. Although the couple have never married, they remain committed to each other. Meanwhile, Randy Quaid has been married to his wife, Evi Quaid, since October 5, 1989.
Meemaw: A Modern Day Fable follows the matriarch of a mixed-race prepper family in the Texas Hill Country. She sets out to organize the biggest bat mitzvah Texas has ever seen for her granddaughter. To fund the extravagant celebration, she decides to take on a criminal empire. The series will consist of eight episodes.
Alongside Randy Quaid and Roseanne Barr, the series also stars Omar Gooding, Jon Lovitz, Drea de Matteo, Doug Jones, Patty Ross, and Tony Hinchcliffe.
The show does not yet have an official release date. Filming reportedly wrapped quietly in Austin, Texas, and the makers are currently in talks with major streaming platforms and other potential buyers to secure distribution.
