Ana Navarro pushed back at her The View co-hosts after they joked about potentially attending a dinner with Donald Trump. Navarro argued that the subject was no laughing matter as the Trump administration continued its immigration enforcement efforts.
The heated exchange began as the panel discussed public figures who had recently dined with the president and whether they would accept a similar invitation.
Ana Navarro pushed back at her co-hosts for joking about Donald Trump amid ongoing ICE raids
As per TheWrap, the conversation turned tense after Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines said they would consider having dinner with Trump.
Navarro immediately rejected the idea. She said there was “no way in hell” she would share a meal with Trump while his administration carried out immigration raids across the country.
Haines then joked about what a dinner between Navarro and Trump might look like, prompting Griffin to laugh. Navarro quickly interrupted and told her co-hosts, “This is not funny!”
She went on to criticize the administration’s immigration policies and claimed Trump had lost considerable support among Latino voters. Navarro questioned why she would sit down for a meal with him under those circumstances.
Haines and Griffin challenged her stance. Haines pointed to Navarro’s previous willingness to confront politicians directly, while Griffin argued that face-to-face conversations could sometimes help influence policy.
Navarro remained firm. She said she did not want to “normalize” Trump by accepting a dinner invitation and stressed that she already challenged him publicly through her work and political involvement.
The discussion became increasingly heated as Griffin continued arguing that showing up for difficult conversations could matter. Navarro responded that she already showed up to the political fight every day and had no interest in doing so over dinner.
Whoopi Goldberg eventually stepped in and ended the exchange before moving the panel to another topic.
