Jack White launched fierce criticism of Donald Trump following controversial remarks about California cities. The musician questioned Trump supporters after the president discussed potential attacks involving Los Angeles and San Diego. White’s response quickly escalated his longstanding criticism of Trump.
Jack White calls Donald Trump the “worst American of all time”
Trump made the remark during an October 5 rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was discussing rising prices connected to the ongoing conflict with Iran. Trump said, “They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles.”
Trump then added, “Let them take out San Diego,” while discussing the potential threat. The White House later said Trump was referring to Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Officials said his remarks were not advocating attacks against American cities.
White responded on Instagram the following day. He addressed Republicans and conservatives living in the two California cities. “How do you feel about your Führer recommending that the cities you live in get attacked?” White wrote.
“Listen to the cult members CLAPPING and cheering for this,” he wrote. “Imagine any other President or elected official in history saying this,” White wrote. He also accused Trump of prioritizing personal loyalty over American interests.
White continued his criticism by describing Trump’s comments as deeply troubling. “That’s right, a U.S. ‘President’ that recommended that two major cities in our country be bombed,” he wrote. “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The Worst American of All Time,” White wrote. White has publicly opposed Trump and his policies for several years.
In August 2025, white described Trump as dangerous to America and the world. He also mocked Trump’s international policies earlier this year. His latest comments therefore continued an established pattern of criticism.
The controversy comes as Trump continues campaigning ahead of November’s midterm elections. His administration has defended Trump’s California remarks as warnings about Iran’s nuclear threat. Meanwhile, White’s latest attack has intensified attention around his criticism of Trump.
