Jack White took a dig at Donald Trump in his powerful Fourth of July statement on Instagram. The White Stripes frontman called the US President a “tyrant” and slammed his MAGA movement. White’s patriotic post also pointed to the values and traditions that make him proud to be an American.

Rock musician Jack White posted on Instagram on the Fourth of July, sharing a hopeful message for Americans. The White Stripes’ lead vocalist and guitarist said that the American flag does not belong to MAGA, taking a direct swipe at President Donald Trump and calling him a “tyrant.”
“I leave you with a reminder: MAGA doesn’t own our flag and never will,” White penned at the end of the note. “And definitely not on this anniversary of a nation currently in peril that was founded on the indelible human right, duty, and endeavor to fight against tyranny and the current tyrant we suffer under today.”
Besides the remark against Trump, the 50-year-old dedicated the message to hopeful Americans, highlighting the values and traditions that citizens must be proud of.
“Happy 250th to America! And even more importantly the concept that America is a possibility, a promise of an attainable ideal, all things achievable in the pursuit of happiness and true freedom,” White stated.
The “Seven Nation Army” singer went on to list the slices of American culture that he feels deeply about. “I believe in the rock and roll band in the garage, the protest in town square, the drive in theater, the workers on the way to the car plant, the melting pot and the integration of faiths, Woody Guthrie and Lead Belly,” he said.
White added, “Thanksgiving dinner, the soup kitchen feeding the homeless, the sunrise in the Grand Canyon and the building and climbing of the tallest sky scrapers.”
