According to E! News, Angie spoke about Mary’s strength in an exclusive interview. Robert Jr. died at age 23 on Feb. 23, months before Angie discussed the loss. “In a way, she was carrying us,” Angie said. She added that Mary showed the women a different way to understand grief.
Angie said the RHOSLC women cried for Mary as mothers after Robert Jr.’s death. “We all wept for her as mothers,” she explained. She said Mary’s strength helped the group cope while Mary also accepted their love and support. “Mary was just a true inspiration,” Angie added.
Mary also encouraged her co-stars to lean on their faith during the painful period. Angie said Mary used her role as a church leader, mother and wife to comfort others. “She was comforting others,” Angie said, adding that Mary shared words of wisdom about going home. “She gave us comfort in her strength,” Angie added.
Robert Jr. died after Salt Lake City police responded to a possible overdose. The medical examiner continues to investigate the cause of death. Mary later shared more about her grief during the RHOSLC season seven premiere on Sept. 16. The episode also showed the women coming together to support her.
Angie also stated that Mary’s story has resonated with viewers who have experienced similar losses. She recalled reading a message from one fan who said the show made them feel less alone. “Her and Robert and their story is reaching so many people,” Angie said. She later called Mary “an amazing, strong woman” and said, “I can’t say it enough.”
Mary’s grief remains an important part of RHOSLC Season 7. The show’s Sept. 16 premiere allowed the audience to gain a better understanding of her loss and the people who supported her.
