Selena Quintanilla Family Feud Explodes With New Million-Dollar Lawsuit

A.B. Quintanilla III has taken legal action against his sister Suzette Quintanilla. The dispute involves money he says Selena Quintanilla‘s estate and entertainment properties owe him. He is seeking more than $1 million in the latest family conflict.

A.B. Quintanilla III sues Suzette Quintanilla for more than $1 million over Selena’s estate

A.B. filed the lawsuit Thursday, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. He claims the dispute stems from an agreement made after Selena’s 1995 death. Yolanda Saldívar killed Selena after a confrontation that year.

The agreement allegedly involved A.B., Suzette, their mother Marcella Quintanilla, and Selena’s husband Christopher Perez. A.B. says he “is a party to and intended beneficiary of the Agreement.” He claims the arrangement gave him rights connected to Selena’s entertainment properties.

The lawsuit centers on Q Productions, a family entertainment company founded by Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr. A.B. alleges that Suzette assumed operational control of the company around 2016 and “exercised functional control” over Selena’s business affairs. He argues that he remains entitled to his agreed share of money generated through the entertainment properties.

In the filing, A.B. states he is “entitled under the Agreement to receive his contractual share of net profits derived from the Entertainment Properties.” He says the amount owed exceeds $1 million. His lawsuit seeks payment along with a complete accounting of what he believes he is owed.

The legal dispute comes decades after Selena Quintanilla’s death transformed her family’s life. Selena’s music and legacy have continued generating commercial interest since her death. Her estate and related entertainment properties have also remained closely connected to her family’s business activities.

A.B. claims Suzette has failed to provide the payments and financial information he believes the agreement requires. He is now asking the court to determine what he owes. He also wants the financial records that show how the relevant parties calculated the profits.

The filing places Selena’s legacy at the center of a new family dispute. It also draws renewed attention to how the relevant parties have managed her entertainment interests. Suzette and their mother, Marcella Quintanilla, had previously disputed A.B.’s allegations. They questioned whether he had filed a lawsuit before the case was formally filed.

The lawsuit does not establish A.B.’s entitlement to the requested sum. He will need to address his claims, including the allegations concerning unpaid profits and fiduciary duties, as the legal proceedings continue. For now, the case adds another chapter to the story surrounding the Selena estate.
