Gigi Hadid, the supermodel known for her major runway career, is already seeing signs that her 5-year-old daughter Khai may share her love for fashion. While attending Tommy Hilfiger’s New York Fashion Week show on Sept. 10, Hadid revealed that Khai has started creating her own runway moments at home. Her mom has a very specific role in them.

According to E! News, Hadid said Khai now understands what her mother does for work and especially enjoys fashion shows that involve creativity and performance.
“She definitely understands the job now,” Hadid noted. “She loves a Tommy show, something that’s uplifting and fun, and she’s very creative. So anything with not just fashion, but drawing, color, fabric, and performance, she loves that.”
Khai has even started doing her own catwalks. However, she has given her supermodel mom a surprising role in the process.
“She gets into her own little catwalks,” Hadid revealed. “But then she’ll be like, ‘Mom, you be security.’ So then sometimes I pretend to be the security at the top of the runway.”
Hadid also shared that she dropped Khai off for her second day of school before heading to the Tommy Hilfiger show, making this Fashion Week feel different for her.
“I dropped my daughter off at her second day of school this morning and came straight here,” Hadid said in an exclusive interview with Live From E! Stream: Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 Runway Show. “So it’s definitely a new version of Fashion Week for me.”
Hadid has also shown her support for Hilfiger’s latest choice of brand ambassador. She was quick to congratulate her BFF Taylor Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, after he was named Tommy Hilfiger’s new global brand ambassador. Commenting on the fashion label’s Instagram announcement on March 30, Hadid wrote, “Yess boys !!!!!”
