Donald Trump has weighed in on the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William. Now, some royal fans say he voiced what they wanted King Charles to say.
During an interview with GB News, Trump criticized Harry’s treatment of his older brother. He also described his memoir, “Spare”, as “very terrible” for William. He also called Meghan Markle a “horrible influence” on Harry.
Fans agree with Donald Trump’s view on Prince Harry talking about Prince William in memoir
US President Donald Trump recently shared his views regarding the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry. A recent X (formerly Twitter) post by GB News features a snippet from Trump’s latest Interview. “But I think that what she has done and him [Prince Harry], he wrote a book that was very terrible to William, it was terrible,” Trump said. The President added, “I would not have taken him back. I would have never spoken to him again.”
Trump later praised Charles for maintaining a relationship with Harry despite the family tensions. When presenter Bev Turner described Charles’ approach as an “olive branch,” Trump acknowledged the King’s decision. “It shows you what a good man King Charles is,” he said. Trump continued, “He’s a much better person than I am, I wouldn’t have done it. I would have said forget it.”
That distinction matters when fans compare Trump’s comments with Charles’ actions. While Trump openly criticized “Spare”, Charles has largely avoided publicly discussing the memoir or his personal feelings about its claims.
As King, Charles also faces limits on what he can say publicly about family disputes. His position requires him to balance his role as monarch with his responsibilities as a father. He may choose not to reveal his private opinions, even when Harry’s memoir discusses William and other members of the royal family.
Meanwhile, Harry detailed his fractured relationship with William in “Spare”. He also claimed that the brothers had a physical confrontation in 2019, which he said left him “knocked to the floor.”
Some fans on X praised Trump for addressing Harry’s treatment of William directly. A user remarked that the US President “says what King Charles doesn’t have the backbone to say.” “He’s finally mentioned the fact Harry was terrible to William – something UK Media and Charles seem to forget,” another wrote.
A third user agreed with Trump’s views. They stated that not taking any action against Harry could severely affect the royal family. The same person added, “The public no longer support him or the monarchy until king William.”
Another urged Charles to take a stronger approach toward Harry and Meghan. “King Charles III would be wise to listen to President Donald Trump re: the traitorous backstabbing thugs Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,” another user wrote, adding that the Sussexes “can’t be trusted.”
