Entourage Writer Hits Back After Debi Mazar’s Toxic Set Claims

Doug Ellin, creator of HBO’s “Entourage,” pushed back against Debi Mazar’s claims of a toxic atmosphere on the set. The creator, co-executive producer, and writer hit back against the cast member, saying that the allegations were “disgusting”.

Doug Ellin called the allegations “disgusting” as he defended the culture behind the HBO series

According to EW, Debi Mazar said that the toxic environment on the set got to her. The actress made the serious accusation that the production did not like it when she got fat after having her second baby.

The actress said in a recent interview: “Season one was a joy-fest. But in the third season, the set was a testosterone-fuelled environment.” She continued, “I’m tough, but it got toxic towards the end for me. And I’d had my second baby and they didn’t like that I got fat, even though I got skinny again. It was complicated because I’m outspoken and never held back my discontent. But I always was professional and I’m grateful I was on it. It was a lot of fun, until it wasn’t.”

Ellin has not taken the allegations lying down. He took to X to launch a tirade against Mazar. “My thoughts are this is disgusting,” Ellin wrote in the post Tuesday. “Never, ever did myself or anyone that matters care or discuss Debi Mazar’s body. I would one million percent embrace any woman who got pregnant.”

Ellin continued saying that he had admittedly handed out fitness suggestions to male coactors. “The only bodies on the show I ever commented on were [Adrian Grenier’s] ( I wanted him more muscular) and [Jerry Ferrara], who I wanted fatter,” he wrote. “I will forever feel bad about that because I didn’t realize the health implications at the time and now couldn’t be happier for Jerry’s transformation.”

This is not the first time that Mazar has opened up about her days on the Entourage set. In a 2020 interview, she recalled being “embarrassed by my dialogue… because I curse, and I obviously have the ability to be a complete trash mouth, but some of the things I would say would completely make me blush.”

Debi Mazar played publicist Shauna Roberts on Entourage, serving as Ari Gold’s sharp-tongued ally and a powerful Hollywood PR figure.
