Robert Pattinson admitted that filming fight scenes had become more difficult. The actor is currently shooting The Batman: Part II in London. Pattinson said he was beginning to feel his age during the demanding production. Still, he remained optimistic about the long-awaited DC Studios sequel.
Robert Pattinson confessed that filming fight sequences for The Batman: Part II is “significantly harder” than it used to be
Pattinson discussed the sequel during a recent interview with GQ. The 40-year-old actor revealed he would remain in London until year-end. He was spending that time filming Matt Reeves’ Batman sequel.
The actor said the physical demands had become increasingly challenging. Pattinson specifically pointed to the movie’s fight sequences. He admitted the action scenes no longer felt as easy.
“I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot,” Pattinson said. He then joked, “Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.” However, the actor said he was still enjoying the experience.
Pattinson remained enthusiastic about the upcoming sequel despite the physical demands. He said he believed the movie would be “pretty great.” The actor also praised the people working alongside him.
“It’s got a really, really fun cast,” Pattinson said. He also acknowledged that filming had become an endurance test. “It’s a marathon,” the actor explained.
The interview also addressed leaked photos from the sequel’s set. Pattinson was asked whether a person riding a motorcycle was him. He initially suggested the rider was likely a stunt double.
The interviewer identified the character as Batman’s alter ego, the Drifter. Pattinson quickly changed his answer after hearing that. “Yeah, it’s me! It’s me,” Pattinson said while laughing.
Pattinson has had an especially busy year outside The Batman: Part II. He has worked on several major projects since the Hollywood strikes ended. The actor said he had rarely experienced such a nonstop schedule.
“I’ve literally been going nonstop,” Pattinson said of his recent workload. He also revealed plans to take time away. “At the end of this, I’m definitely taking a vacation.”
For now, though, Pattinson still has months of filming ahead. The Batman: Part II remains a demanding marathon for its leading star. Even so, the actor appeared excited about what Matt Reeves and the cast were creating.
