Kate Cassidy marked what would have been Liam Payne’s 33rd birthday by recreating some of the late singer’s favorite things with friends.

Rather than limiting the day to a social media message, Cassidy visited one of Payne’s favorite restaurants, ordered his usual meal and later went bowling. She shared moments from the outing in a video while explaining why she still chooses to celebrate his birthday.

“Reminder you don’t have to stop celebrating someone’s birthday just because they’re no longer here,” Cassidy wrote.

Cassidy and her friends began the celebration at Applebee’s, where she ordered the former One Direction star’s preferred burger.

“One of Liam’s favourite restaurants was Applebees. This was Liam’s go-to burger, the cheese burger,” she explained.

The group also brought out a chocolate cake with a candle for Payne. Cassidy blew out the candle on his behalf as her friends sang “Happy Birthday.”

The dessert led to another personal memory. After noticing three spoons on the plate, Cassidy pointed out one of Payne’s unusual fears.

She said Liam was “scared of spoons.”

The Liam Payne birthday tribute continued at a nearby bowling alley. During the game, a pair of angel wings appeared on the screen displaying Cassidy’s score.

She also kept her Instagram caption simple, writing, “Happy 33 Liam,” followed by a heart.

Fans responded to the post with messages supporting the way Kate Cassidy continued remembering Payne.

“I love you for carrying on his memory this way and I giggled so hard at ‘Liam was scared of spoons’ because the plate was LOADED with them, too funny,” one commenter wrote.

Another added, “Thank you celebrating our boy. Happy heavenly birthday Li.”

Payne died in October 2024 after falling from a balcony in Argentina. He had traveled there with Cassidy while supporting his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan during his tour.

Cassidy was dating Payne at the time of his death. Nearly two years later, her birthday tribute focused on the smaller details she remembered about him, from his favorite restaurant order to the fear that made a plate full of spoons especially noticeable.
