Becky G Has a Lot to Say About Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco

Becky G called her recent collaboration with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco a beautiful experience. The trio also brought their playful chemistry to a Los Angeles music video, where Becky tackled her own stunts.

The collaboration arrived as Becky celebrated her latest album, Baraja Bendita, which explored every side of her identity. The singer also continued touring as a special guest on Karol G’s Viajando Por el Mundo Tropitour.

Becky G calls her experience with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco ‘beautiful’

Becky discussed “Te Olvido (La La)” during an August 17 appearance on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe Show. The cumbia-inspired track appeared on Blanco’s album Hermoso after its July 31 release.

“It’s more than cool. It’s beautiful,” Becky said about working with Gomez.

The 29-year-old singer also revealed how much the collaboration meant to her. “I was texting Benny the other day, and I just continue to reiterate to him how really thankful I am to have been invited to be on his album,” she said.

Blanco, 38, had also witnessed Becky’s artistic evolution. She said the producer had seen her “through various different seasons in my artistry.”

“[He] has always just been this person who very early on I remember meeting this character, this personality that I would never forget,” Becky said.

The collaboration continued on set, where the trio filmed the music video around Santee Alley in Los Angeles. Becky described the experience with plenty of enthusiasm.

“It was so sick — so sick to be a part of and such a fun day on set,” she said.

The singer also revealed that she performed her own stunts. “I was doing my own stunts… I was going to say by choice but not according to Benny,” Becky joked. “Everybody’s got to do their own stunts.”

Becky later shared a video from the shoot on Instagram. She captioned it, “Cheers to getting to third wheel the chillest couple on the ?”

Meanwhile, Baraja Bendita arrived August 14. Becky said the record represented a decision to embrace her complete identity.

“For so long, people wanted to define me by one thing,” she explained. She said the album instead focused on “fully owning every part of who I’ve always been.”
