Investigators obtained Tyler Boebert’s texts while examining how the explicit video was distributed
Lauren Boebert’s son appears in an arrest affidavit using a racial slur, and the document connects those messages to the child sexual exploitation case against him.
Police booked Tyler Boebert on Aug. 9, and he bonded out afterward, according to TMZ‘s earlier reporting. The allegations reach back to 2024, a year when he was 18 and the girl he was seeing had two weeks left before turning 18 herself.
A 43-second sexually explicit clip sits at the center of the file. Her former boyfriend received it, the documents state, and she approached law enforcement once that happened. She could not tell investigators how he or anyone else came to have it.
She also said the relationship had run for some time, and she did not want Tyler punished over the recording. The affidavit alleges the filming happened at his home.
The police investigation pulled a batch of texts he had sent to third parties. One of them received the file itself, the affidavit alleges, together with the words “Just for you” and a winking emoji. The reply read, “Lmfao two can play that game.”
The explicit video shared in those messages sits at the core of what investigators examined. Officers additionally took a statement from the girl’s mother, and police said the situation had upset her.
A different thread carries the N-word more than once between Tyler and an unnamed correspondent. That person opened with, “You make people miserable.” Tyler’s answer used the slur while referring to men who had waited in a driveway. Moreover, after the correspondent told him to drop the word, he replied, “Free speech yo. Literally love America.”
Rep. Boebert responded saying she loves her son. Her family takes “these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time,” she said.
