Galyna Saltkovska has opened up about where things stand with ex Steve McBee Sr. as he serves his federal prison sentence. Despite their complicated past, the McBee dynasty said she continues checking in on him. She also reflected on moving forward after their highly publicized breakup.

Speaking to Virtual Reali-Tea, Saltkovska revealed she has remained in contact with McBee Sr. while he serves time at FPC Yankton in South Dakota. Although she has only visited him twice, she said they still communicate regularly.
“I do email him probably weekly, updating [him] on the businesses and just saying hi,” Saltkovska explained. She added that she continues reaching out because “I’m a human and I understand that he is in a tough position that he shouldn’t have been [in].”
McBee Sr. pleaded guilty to one count of crop insurance fraud in 2024. He began serving his two-year federal prison sentence in December 2025 and agreed to pay more than $4 million in restitution. Earlier this summer, his son Steven McBee Jr. said his father is expected to be released on September 11.
Saltkovska and McBee Sr. previously had a relationship that began while he was still married to his former wife, Kristi McBee. After their romance ended, McBee Sr. entered a relationship with Saltkovska’s former best friend, Masha Petrova.
Reflecting on that chapter, Saltkovska said she understood if the pair became attracted to one another. However, she argued the way they handled the relationship was “absolutely wrong” and “inappropriate.” She also joked that she now refers to Petrova as “Mashed Potato,” saying a fan’s nickname simply stuck.
Despite the personal betrayal, Saltkovska said she is choosing to focus on the future. “Yes, we had a personal relationship. And yes, they betrayed me,” she said. “But at the same time, we were building businesses.” She added that she has built strong relationships with the McBee family and is “trying to put that behind me and look [at] the future.”
