Perez Hilton was hospitalized following an apparent self-harm incident that was livestreamed on TikTok on August 4. The 48-year-old’s representatives said they have no additional confirmed information, stressing that their priority is his recovery and his family’s privacy.

Dante Rusciolelli, the CEO of Hilton’s management company, Golden Artists Entertainment, told Us Weekly, “Our focus remains on Perez’s health, recovery, and the privacy of both him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
His representative said that Hilton’s team is grateful for the support and concern shown by fans, friends, and the media. Adding, “We respectfully ask that everyone continue to honor his privacy while he receives the care he needs.” So-CEO Rebekah Kochan wrote in an Instagram post that they would refrain from speculation and further statements until confirmed details are available.
According to dispatch audio obtained by People on August 5, Miami police were called to Hilton’s address following a report of a possible suicide at about 6:51 p.m. local time. A dispatch later identified the individual as a “streamer known as Perez Hilton.”
Dispatch audio indicated that police responded to an apparent suicide attempt at Hilton’s home around 10:41 p.m. Fire services were also called to assist. The residence was treated as an active police scene, and responding units later headed to a local hospital.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Us Weekly, “The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls regarding an individual who was live-streaming acts of self-harm on social media. Deputies quickly located the individual’s residence, where they spoke with family members on scene, and confirmed he was alone inside.”
The statement said that in incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or engaging in self-harm, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication. It further added that deputies had tactfully disengaged while continuing to monitor the situation.
Authorities later confirmed the individual had been safely recovered and transported to a local hospital. They also said crisis response teams were assisting the family. Hilton, born Mario Lavandeira, is a single father of three children. All of his children are under the age of 14 and were born via surrogacy. In June, he shared that his family was relocating to Miami after living in Las Vegas for three and a half years, reports NBC News.
