Scott Eastwood Breaks His Silence on Intense Co-Star Who Crossed the Line

Scott Eastwood has offered his bluntest account yet of a movie-set clash that nearly turned physical. He said Shia LaBeouf crossed a professional boundary while filming Fury. Eastwood did not hold back while describing the encounter. He also explained how Brad Pitt stepped in before the dispute escalated.

Scott Eastwood recalled his heated encounter with Shia LaBeouf while filming Fury

During the Aug. 3 episode of Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Eastwood said working with LaBeouf on the 2014 war film was “tough.” He described his former co-star as “clearly tormented” and used the word “psychopath” while recounting their time on set. The on-set confrontation began over a scripted moment. Eastwood said LaBeouf objected when he spat tobacco on the tank used in the Fury movie, even though the action appeared in the script.

Eastwood recalled deciding that “enough’s enough.” He said he told LaBeouf to stop his behavior and warned, “I’m gonna whoop your ass.” Pitt then stepped in and separated the Hollywood actors before the movie set dispute became physical.

Page Six reported that Eastwood also criticized LaBeouf’s intense process during filming. Eastwood argued that performers should not use method acting as an excuse to make colleagues uncomfortable or create a poor working environment.

Pitt previously acknowledged that he initially sided with LaBeouf during the tank incident. In a 2014 interview, Pitt said he later learned Eastwood had followed the script and admitted that his anger toward him was misplaced.

This was not the first time Eastwood discussed the disagreement. In 2022, he called it a “volatile moment” and said an actor’s process should enhance a production rather than damage how people treat one another.

The new Scott Eastwood interview offered more detail about exactly what he said that day. It also follows his recent criticism of an unnamed co-star who allegedly left another film project after investors had spent significant money.

LaBeouf has also faced separate claims about his conduct on other productions. Earlier this year, sources alleged that he displayed erratic behavior on another movie set. Those allegations remain separate from Eastwood’s account of Fury.

Eastwood’s takeaway was clear: Intensity may serve a performance, but it cannot erase basic workplace boundaries. More than a decade later, he still believes LaBeouf crossed that line.
