Hilaria once again pushed back against longstanding accusations that have persisted throughout her 14-year marriage, claiming she married Alec Baldwin for his money.
The former yoga instructor sat down for a Page Six Radio interview with hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real this week. There she opened up about the earliest days of her relationship with Alec, which began back in 2011.
She clarified that she is aware people have accused her of “gold digger vibes” for marrying the older wealthy actor. However, the 42-year-old American businesswoman insisted that was never the case. She also admitted that the label is hurtful. “It hurt because like I’m not that way,” she said.
To prove her point, Hilaria revealed that Alec frequently tried to buy her expensive gifts early on, but she consistently refused, determined to keep money out of the equation.
“He, from the beginning, I don’t think I’ve ever said this, but like he would always try to buy me things and I would be like, ‘No, I don’t want this.'” “I was like, ‘I don’t want you to buy me something, because I want to know that I like you for you, because I don’t want to be a prisoner either.’
This isn’t the first time Hilaria has addressed the criticism head-on. During the 2025 premiere of the couple’s TLC series “The Baldwins,” she acknowledged it directly. “If I looked at a 27-year-old yoga instructor that was dating a 53-year-old rich and famous actor, what would I think?” she said on the show, further clarifying that she didn’t marry her actor husband for his fame and fortune.
