Megan Moroney was in tears after being forced to leave a concert early due to sickness. The country singer shared the news directly with fans during her Denver show on July 28. She resisted the tears, apologizing and vowing to make things right. Moroney also shared a heartfelt message after leaving the stage.

Moroney performed only three songs before she realized she could not continue the Denver concert. Fan videos shared on TikTok showed the singer telling the crowd, “This is obviously the last thing that I ever wanted to do, but I am obviously extremely sick.” She added, “I will make it up to you guys, I absolutely promise I’ll be back.” Her supporters supported her as she cried and described it as her “worst nightmare.”
Moroney apologized once more and thanked the crowd for its support before exiting the stage. She told the crowd, “I promise I’ll make it up to you guys like, 10 times, and I love you, and I’m really sorry.” Later that night, she shared a longer statement on her Instagram Stories. According to PEOPLE, she said canceling the show was “the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make.”
Moroney explained that she never wants to give fans anything less than her best performance. She wrote, “I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100%, and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight.” Megan also said, “I’m typing this as I’m literally crying my eyes out in my dressing room.” She said the fans are disappointed, and that hurts her deeply.
The singer confirmed she will be back in Denver on Aug. 27 for a makeup show. All tickets issued on July 28 will be valid for the new date, and fans can also ask for refunds, she said.
Moroney continues her Cloud 9 tour, which supports her third album, Cloud 9, after it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in February. In an interview with PEOPLE in April, she spoke about the tour as being “group therapy” and noted, “There’s a lot of highs, there’s a lot of lows, you’re going to be able to get it all out on this tour.”
