New court testimony has revealed the final text messages exchanged between D4vd and 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez before her death. The messages surfaced as prosecutors continued presenting evidence during the musician’s preliminary hearing in Los Angeles.
The latest testimony offered a detailed timeline of the night prosecutors allege Hernandez was killed. D4vd has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
New court filings detailed the last texts exchanged by D4vd and Celeste Rivas Hernandez
According to PEOPLE, Los Angeles Police Department robbery-homicide detective Corey Farrell testified about the final conversations between Hernandez and D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke.
Prosecutors allege Burke fatally stabbed Hernandez on April 23, 2025, following what they describe as an illegal sexual relationship.
The day before her death, Hernandez confronted Burke about another woman. According to the testimony, she texted, “And u rlly saying youd end ur friendship just to be friends w her over me is disturbing and disgusting to me on a deeper level david.”
Burke allegedly replied, “what did i say id end my friendship with you for her.”
Hernandez later warned that she would “end your career and your life.”
The following day, she asked to see Burke and told him he had “1 more chance” to tell her the truth. She also threatened to “leak all of the s–t” if she saw him with the other woman again.
Court testimony showed Burke ordered an Uber to bring Hernandez from Lake Elsinore to his West Hollywood home. He updated her on the ride before she replied, “okkk.”
At 10:01 p.m., Hernandez texted, “girly pop im almost there open your door if you are home.” Burke answered, “got you,” before sending another message roughly 10 minutes later that read, “gate open door unlocked.”
Investigators believe Hernandez died between 10:10 p.m. and 10:31 p.m. According to the testimony, she never sent another text.
Roughly 20 minutes later, Burke allegedly began sending messages asking where she was. According to testimony, he wrote “bro,” followed by a message saying he would call someone because “ur scaring me.” Around midnight, he texted, “where are you please.”
Prosecutors also allege Burke‘s phone and Tesla traveled toward Santa Barbara later that night. Hernandez’s remains were discovered inside the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla in September 2025 after authorities impounded the vehicle.
Additional testimony revealed investigators recovered more than 40 child sexual abuse images allegedly involving Hernandez from Burke’s iPhone. Prosecutors also allege he purchased chainsaws, cadaver bags, a shovel, and other items before allegedly disposing of her remains.
