D4vd‘s defence attorney challenged an LAPD criminalist during a tense preliminary hearing. The questioning focused on potential blood evidence and two chainsaws found at the singer’s home. The exchange came as prosecutors presented evidence connected to the death of Celeste Rivas. D4vd has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
The witness faced intense questioning as D4vd’s legal team pushed back on key testimony
According to reports by TMZ, attorney Blair Berk questioned criminalist Lauren Wallace about evidence collected during the investigation. Wallace previously testified about possible blood evidence discovered inside D4vd’s garage. Berk specifically focused on two chainsaws that investigators found at the property.
Wallace said investigators did not swab the chainsaws for touch DNA. She explained that presumptive blood tests performed on the tools produced negative results. The criminalist also said testing D4vd’s DNA inside his home seemed unnecessary. According to Wallace, his DNA would naturally be present throughout the property.
Berk challenged that reasoning during her questioning. The attorney pointed out that multiple people lived inside the home. Wallace acknowledged that she was aware other residents had access to the property. The exchange highlighted questions surrounding how investigators evaluated potential evidence.
The questioning also touched on unusual items discovered during the investigation. Wallace testified that investigators found jugs containing fake blood inside the home. She said D4vd had reportedly used the substance for merchandise connected to his work.
D4vd is facing charges in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. Her body was discovered inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer. Prosecutors have alleged that D4vd killed Rivas after she threatened to expose their alleged romantic relationship.
D4vd has pleaded not guilty and denied the allegations against him. The preliminary hearing will determine whether prosecutors present enough evidence for the case to proceed. The judge will ultimately decide whether D4vd must stand trial for the alleged crime.
