Travis Scott’s legal troubles from a chaotic night in Miami are making headlines once again. Nearly a year after his arrest aboard a luxury yacht, several crew members and marina workers have filed a civil lawsuit accusing the rapper of assault, battery, and false imprisonment.
The lawsuit revived allegations tied to Scott’s 2024 yacht charter, where what began as a day on the water allegedly escalated into a confrontation that required police intervention. Although the criminal charges from the incident were later dismissed, the dispute has now shifted into civil court.
The lawsuit stems from Travis Scott’s 2024 Miami yacht confrontation
According to TMZ, the lawsuit alleged that Scott chartered a yacht in Miami with several women, members of his security team, and alcohol. Trouble reportedly began after he asked to use a jet ski, but the captain refused because he believed Scott appeared too intoxicated.
The publication reported that Scott then instructed the captain to head toward a nearby marina before jumping onto the dock and leaving his guests aboard for roughly 30 minutes. When he returned, the captain claimed Scott became confrontational after being told the charter was ending, and everyone needed to leave the vessel.
The lawsuit further alleged that Scott attacked the captain, threatened to kill him, and repeatedly told him he was “dead.” According to the filing, Scott’s own security guard initially attempted to calm the situation before allegedly being fired on the spot.
The legal complaint also claimed additional marina workers hastened to help but became involved in the confrontation themselves. The plaintiffs alleged Scott shoulder-charged two crew members, causing one woman to crash into a table and suffer injuries.
The filing further accused Scott of preventing workers from leaving the yacht until police arrived and removed him from the scene. The plaintiffs are seeking damages for battery, assault, false imprisonment, and several other claims.
As previously reported, Scott was arrested following the incident and initially faced charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. Those criminal charges were later dropped, but the dismissal did not prevent the yacht workers from pursuing civil claims stemming from the same night.
