Neither Bocelli nor his representatives have publicly responded to the allegations.
What guests say happened during their stay at Andrea Bocelli’s estate
According to TMZ, the couple stayed at a villa on the Bocelli family estate in Forte dei Marmi, an upscale town on Italy’s Tuscan coast. The pair went out for dinner on the eve of their wedding. When they returned, they discovered that luxury watches, cash, fine jewelry, and other valuable items had allegedly been stolen. TMZ stated that the estimated loss was approximately $500,000.
The couple also claimed someone had gained access to the villa without forcing open the doors or windows. They said they had locked the door and activated the alarm before leaving. The couple further alleged they were unaware the villa contained a wall safe until they found it damaged. Those claims have not been independently verified.
Local authorities responded after the alleged burglary. According to TMZ, the couple criticized the investigation and claimed the official report was inaccurate. They alleged the report incorrectly stated that the villa had been left unlocked and that the alarm system was not working. Italian authorities have not publicly responded to those claims.
Following the incident, the couple sought compensation. However, people associated with the property and the Bocelli family declined the request, according to TMZ. The outlet also stated that representatives for the property later sent the couple a cease-and-desist letter. Andrea Bocelli has not publicly commented on the alleged burglary or the couple’s claims.
