Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Reported $60 Million Blow After Legal Defeat — Source

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have to pay heavily for their legal loss against Associated Newspapers Limited over privacy breach charges. Critics have argued that the amount will put a serious dent in the Sussexes’ finances.

A source claimed Prince Harry’s loss in his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers could leave the Sussexes facing a staggering financial hit

According to OK! Magazine, Prince Harry has lost his lawsuit against the Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) – a loss that could cost his family $60 million. The lawsuit saw seven celebs, including Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley and Jude Law’s ex-wife, Sadie Frost, accusing the Daily Mail of obtaining information about their stories through dubious means, such as phone hacking from the 1990s till 2011.

The High Court ultimately dismissed the claims, ruling that the group had failed to prove Associated Newspapers Limited obtained information through unlawful methods. The publisher is expected to seek recovery of its legal costs. This means that the Sussexes have to now pay for the opposition’s legal bills that run into several millions, on top of an already heavy invoice.

An insider told entertainment columnist Rob Shuter, “This is the verdict that could change everything,” adding, “Harry has spent years — and millions — trying to take on the British press. Instead of vindication, he may now be left with a staggering legal bill.”

Another source added, “People think Harry and Meghan have unlimited money — they don’t.”  They continued, “They’ve earned a fortune, but they’ve spent one too. A financial hit of this size changes the conversation overnight.”

Even to the naked eye, the Sussexes have an alarming amount of expenses –  maintaining their $15 million Montecito, Calif., mansion, their travel, building their brand, staff costs, and an estimated $5 million a year for private security. The legal fees may prove to be a tough challenge at this stage.

HOW DO YOU THINK THE SUSSEXES WILL MANAGE THIS LEGAL SETBACK?
