Hunter Biden revisited one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s most unusual controversies during a new podcast appearance. The former first son claimed the bizarre Central Park bear carcass incident drew national attention before quietly disappearing from the headlines.
The conversation unfolded as Hunter joined Benny Blanco and Lil Dicky on the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast. While discussing RFK Jr., he insisted the decade-old story was real and suggested the investigation lost momentum despite authorities wanting to identify who was responsible.
RFK Jr.‘s bear carcass story resurfaces after Hunter Biden’s latest podcast appearance
According to the information shared on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Blanco said he did not know much about politics before bringing up stories surrounding RFK Jr. Hunter responded by calling the son of Robert F. Kennedy “truly insane” and “an amateur taxidermist.”
Hunter then recounted the incident in detail. “He came up with this brilliant idea and took the bear and a bicycle and hid it in Central Park,” Hunter said. “The joke was supposed to be that there was a bear cycling in Central Park and it fell into the bushes. Like where do you come up with that f—— joke?”
Hunter added that someone later discovered the bear, sending the story nationwide.
“It becomes front page of the New York Times,” he said, adding that Animal Welfare and Animal Control became involved and that “it became a national thing.” He also claimed authorities “wanted to prosecute the person” responsible before the matter was ultimately “swept under the rug” because someone “killed the story.” When Blanco asked whether the story was true, Hunter replied, “It’s all true.”
The incident first resurfaced publicly in 2024 after RFK Jr. acknowledged that he was responsible. According to NBC News, Kennedy said he found a young bear that had been struck and killed by a vehicle while driving through New York’s Hudson Valley.
“So I pulled over and I picked up the bear and put him in the back of my van because I was going to skin the bear,” Kennedy said in a video with Roseanne Barr, according to NBC News. He explained that he intended to keep the meat but later realized he could not transport the carcass before catching a flight.
According to NBC News, Kennedy instead left the bear in Central Park alongside an old bicycle because he thought “it would be amusing” to make it appear the animal had been hit by a cyclist. He later acknowledged the prank attracted enormous attention before saying, “The story died down after a while and it stayed dead for a decade.”
