Swift tied the knot with Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City among family and friends from the industry. Seacrest, who is a close friend of Swift, did not attend her wedding, which surprised fans. Swifties speculated whether he got an invite or if there was a rift between the two.
However, putting an end to the ongoing rumors, American Idol host Seacrest shared the reason behind the absence. On Monday, in his radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, he revealed he was busy hosting ABC’s 4th of July special, which is why he was not able to attend the wedding.
According to The Sun, he said, “I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the 4th of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th, so I had to cancel.” He explained how he had to cancel attending the wedding at MSG, as he was scheduled to host the Disney coverage across the USA of the 250th celebration of Independence Day.
He also added, “I was actually really excited. I was kind of torn. Trust me, I went through the minutes. I couldn’t have done both. And the actual wedding was in the afternoon. But I was so honored and thrilled to be invited.”
Seacrest, after RSVPing, bumped into Swift and Travis, where he confirmed his attendance. He said, “You know, the irony was, after I RSVP’d to the wedding, I saw them at dinner at a restaurant, and we talked about the event.”
The Wheel of Fortune host, who had initially confirmed his attendance, had to cancel due to his commitment to Disney.
