Megyn Kelly Unloads on Jack Schlossberg After Failed Congressional Bid

Jack Schlossberg’s congressional bid ended in a decisive loss. The defeat quickly sparked reactions from political commentators across the media landscape. One of the loudest responses came from Megyn Kelly.

The broadcaster didn’t hold back while discussing Schlossberg’s campaign and the New York primary results on her show.

Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy and son of Caroline Kennedy, ran as a Democrat for New York’s 12th Congressional District. He sought to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler but finished third with about 10.8% of the vote. State Assembly member Micah Lasher won the race, followed by Assemblymember Alex Bores.

Reacting to the outcome, Kelly celebrated the result during her podcast. “There was some good news, as I see it, coming out of the electoral results last night, namely the vile, bizarre — I think — mentally unwell Jack Schlossberg lost,” Kelly said. She added that New York voters “saw right through his slick act.”

Kelly also criticized what she described as Schlossberg’s campaign strategy. She argued that he relied on his famous family name instead of building a strong campaign. “He refused to campaign. He had a sense of entitlement. He’s never accomplished anything,” Kelly said. “The New York people said, ‘No, we’re not falling for this again.’”

During the discussion, Kelly and guest Mark Halperin also mocked media coverage of the race. Kelly took issue with headlines suggesting Schlossberg’s defeat marked the end of a modern “Camelot.”

“This guy was never going to be delivering a renewed Camelot,” she said before criticizing the attention surrounding his social media persona.

Kelly referenced claims Schlossberg skipped campaign strategy meetings and even canceled fundraising calls because he “needed a nap.” Those allegations have not been independently verified by Reality Tea, and Schlossberg has not publicly responded to Kelly’s remarks.

Although his family name brought immediate recognition, voters ultimately chose Lasher to succeed Nadler in one of New York City’s most closely watched Democratic primaries.
