Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison time has been reduced yet again. The 56-year-old rapper is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for purposes of prostitution. He is now set for release on February 23, 2028.
Diddy will be released from jail weeks earlier after being accepted to a drug abuse program
BBC reports that the rapper, who was accused of operating a large sex-trafficking operation, was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution in July 2025. The charges involved his ex-girlfriend and singer Cassie Ventura, and another accuser known as Jane, who testified at trial.
During the trial, federal prosecutors alleged that the rapper used his fame and wealth, along with violence and blackmail threats, to coerce two former girlfriends into drug-fueled sexual encounters with male escorts, as per The Guardian.
This is the fourth time his release date has been revised. According to Fox 11, his release date was listed as April 15, 2028, after being moved up from April 25, 2028. His initial release date was June 4, 2028.
As per the Federal Bureau of Prisons, early releases can be granted for “good conduct time” and credits earned through approved programs. Diddy, who founded Bad Boy Records, has reportedly been participating in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) while in custody.
His representatives told Page Six, “Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start. He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth and committed to positive change.”
Apart from this, Diddy also faces upwards of 70 civil lawsuits across the country, including a new lawsuit filed by a former child actor. The lawsuit alleges that Diddy pulled down the young actor’s pants and underwear during the alleged incident. He then performed oral sex while pleasuring himself. The complaint does not specify the plaintiff’s exact age at the time; however, it states that “at all times relevant, and in or around May 2007, Plaintiff was a minor child under the age of 18,” states CBC News,
