Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has once again made headlines for his hands-on encounter with snakes. The 72-year-old Health and Human Services secretary shared another snake-handling video on May 27. He posted the video on social media in response to the “many comments about venomous snakes” on his previous clip, in which he grabbed two alive snakes with his bare hands.

Kennedy posted the two-minute and two-second video and captioned it, “In response to the many comments about venomous snakes, this video shows how Cheryl and I handled a recent rattlesnake rescue.”
The video begins with Kennedy Jr. sitting in his home office when a woman comes in and tells him there’s a snake in the driveway. “Hold on, guys. I’ll be back in a flash,” he says before walking out with a bucket and a small pink net to grab the rattlesnake. He picks up the rattlesnake while people nearby watch in shock and then start praising him, saying, “Amazing.” After placing the snake in the bucket, he says, “His fangs are in there. I don’t want to touch them.” He further adds, “This is a beautiful snake. This is a Western Diamondback. You can tell by these rings at the end of his tail.” He then asks his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, for a pillowcase to carry it before releasing it.
The video, since then, has garnered over two million views, where one of the netizens commented, “You are a most unusual Kennedy.” The politician posted a similar video on May 26 during a visit to Dr. Mehmet Oz’s Florida home, where he was seen wrangling two black racers on the patio of Oz’s beachfront Palm Beach property.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has long been known for his interest in animals. Raised on Hickory Hill surrounded by animals, he also once worked at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C. His sister, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, once said, as reported by PBS, “There were plenty of horses, many dogs, chickens, geese, goats. It was a menagerie… my brother, Bobby, collected reptiles. And actually, the turtle was in the laundry room. The sea lion was in the swimming pool.”
