Ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani claimed to have had “a very very significant spiritual experience” while in a coma battling a serious case of pneumonia, where he was “headed for trial by St. Peter.”
Deeply affected by his near-death experience, Giuliani says he had a vivid dream about an “intervention” led by his longtime friend and Deputy Mayor Peter J. Powers, who died in 2016 at 72, following lung cancer complications.

Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized on May 3 with a serious case of viral pneumonia that caused him to slip into a coma. His condition quickly deteriorated, and a priest was called to deliver the last rites. Fortunately, Giuliani came out of the coma and is reportedly making a full recovery and is literally living to tell the tale.
Giuliani appeared on ‘America’s Mayor Live’ and said he would recount his dream in detail at a later date. He said, “Peter said some very significant words, and I made sure, as soon as I woke up, I started telling people and recorded it in part.” He also noted that his son Andrew has recorded his retelling of the dream at his bedside in Florida.
Giuliani stressed that “I don’t want to embellish it, and I don’t want to deny what was there,” indicating that he had had nothing short of a spiritual awakening when he was “out of it.” He appeared visibly moved by his “friend of my lifetime,” J. Powers, who had said profound words to him in that dream-like state.
Giuliani and his close aides also noted that President Donald Trump was closely following Giuliani’s health and had extended his best wishes for his recovery. Trump has been reported saying, “He’s a Godsend to this country.” Giuliani appeared on “The Rudy Giuliani Show” to say that he “feels 100 percent” after the ordeal.
