King Charles and Queen Camilla will reportedly visit the U.S. in April. The trip marks an important moment in the long-standing relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Reports suggest that the King and Queen have been invited as guests of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. This visit is especially significant as it coincides with the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.
King Charles and Queen Camilla’s first state visit to the US is confirmed
According to a report by PEOPLE magazine, King Charles and Queen Camilla’s trip to the U.S. is confirmed. They will be arriving as guests of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. The visit is said to celebrate “historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship,” as per the palace. However, the exact date of their visit to the U.S. has not yet been confirmed.
The visit also coincides with the U.S.’s 250th anniversary of Independence. This will also mark Charles’s first-ever visit to Bermuda as a monarch. The news is not at all sudden. This is because Trump mentioned during an interview that the British King and Queen’s visit would be “very soon.”
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on March 31 that confirmed the visit. The statement also said, “Their Majesties’ program will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence.”
The statement further read, “The King will then continue to Bermuda to undertake His Majesty’s first Royal Visit as Monarch to a British Overseas Territory.”
This would be the first time Charles would visit the U.S. as a monarch. His mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, had earlier visited the U.S. four times.
While Charles and Camilla’s visit to the U.S. is confirmed, reports also suggest that Prince William may also visit the U.S. to watch the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
