Uncharted 4 Easter Egg Means Nathan Drake Now Exists in the World of Papers Please

A hidden Uncharted 4 easter egg features a sly nod to the critically acclaimed indie game Papers Please.

The easter egg sees protagonist Nathan Drake making a reference to Arstotzka, the fictional setting of Papers Please, while running past a foreign border control office. Though it’s only brief, it’s potentially the most curious easter egg uncovered in Uncharted 4 thus far, which is saying a lot considering that the game also features easter eggs that have included the likes of Crash Bandicoot and the Monkey Island series’ Guybrush Threepwood.

The Paper Please reference is likely a result of the game’s creator, Lucas Pope, having previously worked at Naughty Dog, with him having worked on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. While it’s likely little more than an off-the-cuff, fun reference on behalf of the game’s developer, it does mean that the world of Uncharted and Artotzka now exist within the same universe. Let that sink in for a little bit.
