Drake Spent $120K on a Michael Jackson Easter Egg for ‘Iceman’ — Report

From elaborate ice structure promotions to pointed diss tracks, Drake‘s latest project, “Iceman“, is already generating that signature buzz. But the latest report surrounding the album indicates Drake is going beyond references. Rumors are swirling that the God’s Plan hitmaker reportedly spent $120,000 to include Michael Jackson’s iconic hand gloves in his new album.

Drake reportedly had to pay six figures for this Michael Jackson easter egg on Iceman album

Drake has reportedly invested six figures to embed a Michael Jackson Easter egg within “Iceman”.

The Canadian rapper recently released his new album “Iceman”, with reports saying he spent more than $120,000 on one of Michael Jackson’s crystal hand gloves. The glove serves as the central visual for the album cover, paying tribute to Jackson’s legacy and marking Drake’s milestone of tying him for the most number-one hits.

Michael Jackson’s signature Swarovski crystal-studded glove became an enduring emblem of his artistry after its debut at the Motown 25 television special in 1983. He reserved the iconic accessory for pivotal moments throughout his career. During the 1984 Victory Tour with his brothers, he wore custom gloves designed by Bill Whitten. Each glove was hand-sewn with 600 to 800 rhinestones.

On January 16, 1984, he appeared at the American Music Awards in his first custom black Swarovski crystal glove. Fans and collectors regard that piece as one of pop music’s most sought-after artifacts. He also wore the same glove on March 28, 1985, when he unveiled his wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London.

After Complex Style shared an Instagram post highlighting Drake’s reported use of Michael Jackson’s iconic glove for “Iceman”, the comments erupted.

“I just know MJ turning in his grave,” wrote an MJ fan. “Don’t ever disrespect Mike like that,” echoed another. “It could be a fake one just the Death Row chain he thought was real,” suggested an Instagram user.

Drake dropped his new solo album “Iceman” on May 15. The release was paired with two surprise companion projects, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour“. Combined, the releases deliver 43 new tracks.
