Childish Gambino Goes Blackout, Deactivates All His Social Media and Website Presence

…And he’s gone. Donald Glover has been engaged in something of an identity crisis since making his full-fledged leap into music, but with a Grammy nod topping a run of successes in recent years the man who calls himself Childish Gambino is not only returning to television, but vanishing online as well.

The 31-year-old rapper/actor, best known for his role on NBC’s “Community” as well as his famed run as Childish Gambino, has all but vanished from the online world. His Twitter and other social media accounts have been scrubbed clean of content, in places replaced by an all-black image (the i am donald Facebook page is still live, however). The sites that hosted his recent music and the screenplay that accompanied his 2013 album, Because The Internet, have been blacked out as well.

Glover’s black boxes are possibly in respect to those protesting and paying tribute the new social uprising in the wake of the murders of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice and others by police officers.

Glover’s new TV show, a music-centric feature series called “Atlanta,” has been given a pilot order by FX. We strongly suspect Glover will resurface online before promotions begin.
