Moto E is Tipped as the Best Budget Smartphone Ever

Motorola has today unveiled the Moto E, a $129 Android device that is being billed as the best budget-price smartphone ever.

The Moto E follows the Moto G, an incredibly popular phone that offered a tremendous amount of bang for buyers' bucks. However, Motorola has now managed to make a good smartphone for an even lower price, despite featuring slightly weaker specs.

The Moto E will launch with Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box, and its incredibly durable Gorilla Glass 3 cover is being touted as its best feature. It also boasts a 4.3-inch, 960 x 540 display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 1,980mAh battery and a 5-megapixel main camera, along with 4GB of internal storage. There's also a microSD card slot to allow for more storage.

Motorola has confirmed that it plans to release at least one major update in the device's life cycle, and announced the smartphone alongside a variety of multi-colored covers for customers to pick and choose from.

The Moto E is launching this week in the US for $129, the UK for £89 and India for 6,999 rupees. Its release date and pricing in other regions has not yet been announced.
