Vote for Madden NFL 15 Cover Victim…Uh…Athlete

We all know the double-edged sword that comes with being chosen as the latest NFL star to be featured on the cover of EA’s evergreen Madden NFL games.

Yes, it’s an immense honor to be selected as the face of the league for the season, the embodiment of the athletic superiority it takes to succeed on one of the largest professional stages imaginable.

Cover boy status also means you’re all but guaranteed to suffer a failed drug test, watch your knee fold up like a rickety card table or generally just all around suck next season.

Such is the way of the “Madden curse.”

All of this is some context for reporting that voting is now open to help select which football hero will have their career irrevocably altered by appearing on the cover of the forthcoming Madden NFL 15.

Crave gaming site Destructoid is endorsing votes for Seattle Seahawks safety Richard Sherman, which seems like a wonderful choice…if you’re a 49ers fan.

However, you could reverse the mojo by picking San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick or any of the other 14 possible options EA is offering.

Four rounds of voting happen between now and June 6 on ESPN.com — so happy voting, everyone!
