Matt Roberts Shows Off Sketches From ‘Manifest Destiny’

You may or may not be reading the Chris Dingess/Matt Roberts book Manifest Destiny, an interesting bit of historical horror fiction wherein the Lewis & Clark expedition not only has to explore and chart the Louisiana Purchase but also fight crazy buffalo-head centaur monsters. They are not technically minotaurs (those have bull heads), but they’re tryign to call them minotaurs, and everyone keeps correcting them.

Anyway, this week’s fourth issue introduced Sacagawea, who was supposed to be a guide for the crew, but who has also kicked the snot out of one of these buffalotaurs and has scored one of their pelts before coming to the small fort village wherein Lewis & Clark’s gang have been trapped. Why trapped? Because the Buffalotaurs are surrounding it and want them dead, and there are weird plant-zombies within the walls that have even taken control of one of their members.

Also, Matt Roberts has shown off a pair of sketches over at Skybound.com that are pretty cool, and they show you some of what you’re missing out on if you’re not reading Manifest Destiny.

Pretty cool, huh? Check it out, won’t you? See if you like it.
