The B-Movies Podcast: James Toback is Seduced and Abandoned

Have you ever been seduced and abandoned? James Toback feels your pain. The Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Bugsy and director of FingersHarvard Man and Tyson is back with a new film that documents his travels to the Cannes Film Festival with Alec Baldwin to secure financing for a remake of Last Tango in Paris. Along the way they interview filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Bernardo Bertolucci and Francis Ford Coppola, and actors Ryan Gosling, Jessica Chastain and Berenice Bejo about their experiences at Cannes and ongoing struggles to produce films in an industry that sometimes doesn’t seem very interested. It’s an in-depth look at the contemporary entertainment industry… just don’t call it a documentary.
