Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Wow L.A. Big Top Crowd

Alex Ebert laid it all out.  The Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros frontman basically told fans in attendance Saturday night in Los Angeles’ State Historic Park exactly why the band threw this weekend’s giant old-time traveling circus/religious revival known as the Big Top Festival.

“I’m personally going to try my best to make it [the world] better,” Ebert said without a hint of irony or sarcasm.

That line seems to embody the very spirit of the band, as well as the spirit of the entire Big Top Circus they orchestrated.

After our dinner with the band earlier this week, we knew the show was going to be a spectacle – but we didn’t know just HOW spectacular. Whether it was Torque Method’s aerial acrobatics or Lucent Dossier’s sward swallower, the crowd was on their feet from the beginning of Saturday night’s events straight through to the end.

For a taste of what Edward Sharpe’s Big Top had to offer, check out some photos from under the canopy.

A special thanks to our friends at Samsung Mobile for the hookup!
